STUDENTS' LETTERS

Taylor Lively
Being in the Kennesaw Mountain Band Organization is truly a wonderful thing.
I have been in it for almost two years, and have enjoyed every moment. I
happen to be in the Marching Band in the fall, and the concert season in the
spring. Being a part of both is very exciting. From Grand Nationals to the
festival concert, playing in the band program will always leave you with
lifetime memories.
The summer before my freshman year, I remember attending sectionals and
learning what it’s like to be in the KMHS Marching Band. I learned that it
takes hard work and dedication to achieve the goals of this award-winning
band. Sure, the sun is really hot at band camp, but in the end you realize
it’s so worth it. You sweat, get sunburn, and get tired, but that’s all part
of being in the Marching Band. At the end of every season, you have a
feeling of satisfaction from the excitement of knowing your hard work has
paid off.
Every competition shows the effort you have put forth to make this program
worthwhile. Even though this is about the whole Marching Band, the
accomplishments could not be achieved without your participation. The thrill
of seeing the crowd for the first time at Grand Nationals is both exciting
and nerve-wracking, but oh…. what a feeling!
Just as quickly as it began, Marching Band is over and the concert season
begins. Although it is a different season, the work ethic remains the
same---- you work toward the participation at festival. No matter what band
you are in, whether it be Concert Band, Symphonic Band, or Wind Ensemble,
the high level of music teaches you to challenge and better your talent.
We are looking forward to meeting you, and hoping you will be a part of the
Kennesaw Mountain Band Organization. The students in the band program will
be more than happy to help you with any questions or concerns. We are your
band family, where you will meet a variety of people and make new friends.
Welcome to KMBO!!!
Sincerely,
