ABOUT KMBO MOBILE
What is KMBO Mobile?
KMBO Mobile is a section of the KMBO website
specially designed for viewing on mobile devices. Currently on KMBO
Mobile, you can download band-related ringtones for your cell phone, or for
listening pleasure on your PDA.
Does it cost anything?
KMBO does not charge for use of this service, but your
mobile internet service provider may. Often, there is a small charge
for each kilobyte of data transferred. Contact your service provider
to find out what type of plan you are on.
How can I access it?
While each device is different, you may use this as a
general guide. Some devices, especially older ones, may not be able to
access this. Contact your device provider for any questions.
First, connect to the internet by opening the web
browser on your device. Usually, once it is connected, it will display
some sort of home page. Next, you need to find a place to enter the
web page to go to. This is often found in a menu item called "Go to
URL". Once there, type in "kmbo.org/wap" and load the
page. Once you see KMBO Mobile, you've successfully loaded the page!
You can also view the page on a computer by going to
www.kmbo.org/wap (WAP stands for Wireless
Application Protocol). You can sample the ringtones before you
download them to your device, or if you have a connection between your
device and your computer (i.e. Bluetooth or a cable), you can send the files
from your computer.
MIDI vs. MP3
MIDI ringtones are also known as polyphonic. MP3
ringtones are real recordings. Make sure you know what your device
supports before downloading it. It will not play if it is not
supported. |
